Europastry has acquired deep-frozen baked goods producer Confeitaria Torres in Portugal. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by both companies.
Confeitaria Torres has been producing artisanal bakery products for the local market for more than 50 years.
The company manufactures a wide range of food products that are tailored according to the needs and preferences of its customers.
With the completion of the acquisition of this family business, Europastry adds another craft baker to its production capacity, further consolidating its range of quality traditional products.
Furthermore, the company intends to expand its presence in the Portuguese market and will strengthen its operation in Carregado region by adding high value-added regional and international products.
The acquisition is reported to be in line with Europastry’s strategy to expand its footprint on a global scale.
Confeitaria Torres offers its products under five brands including fripan, frida, friart, Yaya Maria and Dots.
In September, Europastry introduced its Rainbow Dots range that comprised five varieties made with natural colourings and flavourings.
The five options in the Dots range are Green Pistachi, Red cookies, Yellow Frutti, Purple White and Marshmallow.
Founded by Pere Gallés in 1987, Europastry offers innovative solutions and premium quality products to consumers, bakers and the catering industry. The company operates in 50 countries and has its manufacturing plants in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and the US.
