Tulip, a subsidiary of global meat company Danish Crown, is investing £2.3m in its Ruskington facility in the UK.
The investment will allow Tulip to enhance the capabilities of its facility and meet the growing demand for its food products.
Located in Ruskington, Lincolnshire, the facility has a workforce of 450 employees and is engaged in the production of Scotch eggs, cocktail sausages and a range of seasonal products.
Tulip operating director Shaun Kay said: “This investment will support the continued growth we have seen in our core product lines thanks to a resurgence in popularity of non-pastry traditional snacks such as Scotch eggs and savoury bites.
“We are also investing in a dedicated facility and state-of-the-art equipment to support the development of a range of niche products, which can be more complex to produce.”
The Danish Crown subsidiary further added that the investment will see the creation of a small specialist on-site factory to offer niche products quickly to the stores.
Tulip CEO Andrew Cracknell said: “This significant investment in our Ruskington facility underlines our ongoing commitment to the Lincolnshire region and demonstrates continued inward investment into the UK by our parent company Danish Crown. We’re confident that the site will be well-placed to help drive our business forward in the years ahead.”
In December 2018, Tulip completed a £8m investment at its abattoir in Ashton, Greater Manchester, to increase production operations at the site and support the company’s higher welfare strategy in the UK market for the coming years.
Earlier this year, Tulip partnered with UK pork snacks brand Snaffling Pig to release a range of gammon steaks.
