Plant-based food producer Beyond Meat has released the new version of Beyond Burger, the brand’s flagship product, at grocery stores across the US.
The company noted that the new version of the Beyond Burger patty is its next step forward in its vision of building the ‘Future of Protein’.
Each 4oz patty has 20g of plant-based protein.
Beyond Meat founder and CEO Ethan Brown said: “The new Beyond Burger is the next step in our journey toward building meat directly from plants that deliver a consumer experience indistinguishable from its animal protein equivalent.”
The new Beyond Burger is produced using a blend of peas, mung beans and rice. It will feature coconut oil and cocoa butter marbling designed to melt and tenderise like traditional ground beef, as well as beetroot to prove the meaty red hue.
Beyond Meat has started the rollout of its new version of the Beyond Burger patty, which has been made entirely from plants without GMOs, soy or gluten.
Last month, Beyond Meat expanded its partnership with Zandbergen World’s Finest Meat to produce plant-based products at Zandbergen’s manufacturing facility, which is being constructed in Zoeterwoude, Netherlands.
Slated for completion in the first quarter next year, the facility will be Beyond Meat’s first production capability outside the US.
