Silicon Valley startup company Procurant has announced the release of ProcurantEdge, an internet of things (IoT) gateway.
ProcurantEdge is a single integrated system that processes data from sensors at the point of collection and can record critical data to a blockchain or trigger exception reporting and threshold alerts.
Additionally, to improve overall supply chain visibility and food safety, the application integrates with supply chain order management processes.
Procurant chief marketing officer Kevin Brooks said: “Today’s sensor-based IoT systems generate massive amounts of information, but cost-effectively managing that information and making use of it to drive business results has been challenging.
“ProcurantEdge solves that problem with an integrated approach that makes sensor data much more useful, particularly in the area of food safety.”
The company claims that its new solution is suitable for organisations that face difficulties in proper usage of increasing the amount of data generated by IoT devices across their supply chain.
As a full-service IoT solution, ProcurantEdge is available as a subscription and includes an onsite assessment by Procurant IoT experts, Edge gateway devices, remote sensing devices, the ability to store data in a blockchain, and a cloud account for extended integrations, reporting and remote configuration.
ProcurantEdge is part of a range of solutions offered by Procurant, leveraging a single, global platform designed for the unique requirements of the food industry.
Founded by industry veterans, Procurant focuses on transforming the global food supply chain with advanced technology to reduce waste, improve food safety and digitising every stage of businesses from production to consumption.
