The dog treat, Natural Pig Ears, have been voluntarily recalled as they have the potential to be infected with salmonella.
The Lennox Intl Inc has announced to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that it is voluntary recalling its Natural Pig Ears because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
Salmonella can affect animals eating the product and there is also a risk to humans from handling contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products which are solely for the consumption by dogs.
The recalled products affected were shipped to nationwide distributors and/or retail stores from 1 May 3 July 2019.
The product comes in and 8 PK branded pouch or packaged individually shrink-wrapped – a list of the UPC codes for the product can be found here.
To date, Lennox has stated to the FDA that it is aware of two cases of its pig ears causing dog Illnesses which may be related to the potential salmonella contamination noted during an ongoing FDA investigation of salmonella illness, associated with what appears to be multiple sources.
Consumers who have purchased the product and have a proper receipt may return the product.
