US-based venture capital firm S CAP has invested an undisclosed amount in Wild Friends Foods and Cusa Tea.
Wild Friends Foods is a Portland, Oregon, based natural nut and seed butter company. It was established by Keeley Tillotson and Erika Welsh.
Since its inception in 2011, Wild Friends Foods has launched a product portfolio that includes nut butters with superfoods such as chia, collagen and flax.
Currently, Wild Friends Food products are available in Sprouts Farmers Market and other natural food stores nationwide. The company is also planning to expand its distribution across multiple retail channels over the next few months.
S CAP managing partner Kunal Sethi said: “We see a positive response from investors who share our commitment in making a positive impact on society through better nutrition, investing in brands with a low environmental impact and good governance.
“We see this as accelerating growth and earning premiums in the market, as do our investors.”
Cusa Tea is a premium instant tea company founded by Jim Lamancusa. It is based in Boulder, Colorado, and is engaged in the production of organic tea that is free from sweeteners or artificial ingredients.
S CAP general partner Jim Cali said: “Cusa Tea, a breakthrough in the tea category, offering the potential for disruption across the broader functional and healthy beverage market.
