US-based packed food and beverage manufacturer Treehouse Foods has initiated several organisational changes to optimise its business.
The company will restructure into two divisions, snacking and beverages, and meal preparation, from the first quarter of 2020. It based its current division structure of baked goods, beverages and meal solutions on product categories.
TreeHouse Foods’ organisational changes will allow the company to better allocate resources to meet retail customers’ expectations.
TreeHouse Foods president and CEO Steve Oakland said: “Following an in-depth review of our categories and strategies, we have decided to organise ourselves in a manner that we believe best serves our customers.
“Our reorganisation not only enables us to align our resources to help our customers achieve their goals but it also better positions us for growth going forward.”
The company’s snacking and beverages division will feature various categories, including bars, candy, cookies and tea. All of these categories have sizeable growth potential. TreeHouse Foods’ snacking and beverages division reported revenue of $1.7bn in 2019.
TreeHouse Foods said that the focus of this division will be revenue growth and research, development and commercialisation. This will allow it to follow evolving consumer trends.
The meal preparation division will include hot cereal, pickles, refrigerated dough, single-serve coffee and syrup. In 2019, this division generated revenue of around $2.6bn.
The meal preparation division will focus on efficiency, productivity and cash flow.
Kevin G Jackson has joined TreeHouse as snacking and beverages president. Mark Fleming will head the meal preparation division.
