An ABC affiliate out of North Carolina is reporting that in North and South Carolina, a handful of Pepsi Bottlers have come together to help in the fight against coronavirus.
According to WCTI, Ayden N.C.-based Minges Bottling Group and co-op partner Carolina Canners Inc., out of Cheraw, S.C. are donating materials to hospitals. This comes after a nurse’s husband fashioned a face shield out of a Pepsi Two-Liter bottle for his wife to wear. The innovative husband then reached out to his local bottler to see if they could donate more bottles for the cause.
According to the report, Carolina Canners and Pepsi of Greenville, S.C. sent 50 bottles to the nurse. Meanwhile, similar requests have come in and Pepsi of Florence joined in with 1,000 bottles. When a healthcare system in eastern North Carolina requested help, Minges Bottling stepped in to help.
