US-based desserts manufacturer Sara Lee Frozen Bakery has decided to convert its primary bakery into a peanut and tree nut-free facility.
The facility produces Superior On Main branded sweet baked goods such as éclairs, brownies, madeleines and cookies.
Sara Lee Frozen Bakery In-Store Bakery general manager Curt Coolidge said: “We received requests from both consumers and our retail partners for peanut and tree nut-free products.
“We’re pleased that consumers looking for nut-free products will be able to safely enjoy our delicious desserts.”
Superior on Main became part of Sara Lee Frozen Bakery business after it was acquired last August.
The facility conversion marks the first major production announcement made by the frozen bakery and desserts maker.
Beginning over the next few months, the statement ‘Made in a Peanut & Tree Nut Free Facility’ will be appearing on the Superior On Main ingredient labels for the products manufactured at this facility.
