The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public alert about ready-to-eat meals from Taylor Farms because glass pieces have been found in the product.
A recall was not requested because it is believed that the products are no longer available for consumers to purchase.
“The problem was discovered when a Taylor Farms employee discovered pieces of glass in product during production,” according to the public alert issued by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
“FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators.”
The FSIS recommends that consumers check their homes for the products listed below, If leftover portions are not stored in the original packaging and consumers are not sure if they are included in the warning, they should throw them out.
Anyone who has eaten any of the products named in this alert and developed any indication they may have consumed glass bits should seek medical attention
The implicated products have establishment number “P-34733” or “EST. 34733” printed within the USDA mark of inspection. The products were shipped to retail locations in Houston and San Antonio, TX.
The ready-to-eat meat and poultry items for this public health alert were produced by Taylor Farms in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 5 and Oct 6. The following products subject to the public health alert are:
