Ornua Ingredients Europe’s new pizza cheese range targets waste reduction and optimal coverage

Ornua Ingredients Europe has unveiled a new range of pizza cheeses within its Spinneyfields brand. The Spinneyfields Consistent Shred Pizza Cheese is developed to deliver a consistent quality with less waste, as well as ideal coverage, melt and stretch.

Produced at Ornua’s Ledbury facility, the new cheese range is refined using Ornua’s bespoke TCS Technology, which enables a firm shred and consistent size in the finished product.

Consistent Shred Pizza Cheese is pegged as being versatile and easy to handle, while minimizing burns and blistering by eliminating clumping and cheese fins.

Spinneyfields range
The Spinneyfields Consistent Shred Pizza Cheese range is available in convenient chilled or individually quick-frozen packs of 6 x 2 kg. It is designed for applicability on all pizza bases and is suitable for all ovens.

The Spinneyfields Consistent Shred range includes three products: 

Consistent Shred Mozzarella – A soft melt 100 percent mozzarella with stretch and creaminess.

Consistent Shred Mozzarella & Cheddar - A soft melt mozzarella and cheddar natural blend that delivers melt, stretch and a creamy, rich flavor.

Consistent Shred Pizza Topper – A pizza cheese targeting a broad variety of applications.

Appetite for pizza spikes during COVID-19
Analysis by EIT Food highlights that European consumers have been buying more in almost every food category, as COVID-19 lockdowns and a rise in remote working across Europe led to people spending more time at home and eating out less.

“Today we make cheese for over 100 million pizzas annually,” Joan Bombardo, managing director of Ornua Ingredients Europe, comments. 

“We are currently living in unprecedented times. During the pandemic, the delivered pizza sector experienced rapid and sustained growth.”

In similar launches, Carbery Group recently unveiled Carbery Dairy, its latest cheese brand targeting the ingredient and foodservice markets in Europe and Asia. The range includes natural cheddar, a functional reduced-fat cheese, specialty cheeses and a range of pasta filata, including mozzarella and grilling cheese.
