Packaged vegetable supplier Mann Packing has boosted its presence in West Coast by opening a new facility in Gonzales, California, US.
The opening of the 130,000ft² facility is part of the company’s plan to grow business and expand its existing operations.
The fully automated facility features a full cold chain from the reception of raw material to delivery of the finished product to ensure freshness, as well as a 260ft-tall wind turbine to support sustainable processing, and separate processing and raw material areas.
The Gonzales facility also features an improved environmental monitoring programme and is equipped with an advanced QMS technology for instant information sharing, the company claims.
Mann sales vice-president Parker Javid said: “Our commitment to our customers and consumers is to supply the freshest produce with optimum standards of food safety, quality and a never-ending improvement of our customer service.
“We are humbled by the families across the country that choose our wholesome vegetables for their dinner tables and do not take that responsibility lightly.
“With the opening of this safe and innovative facility, we are so excited to continue to share with our consumers both new and existing products and continue to build a bright future together with them.”
The new facility is the company’s fifth facility in West Coast. Its other facilities are located in Yuma, Arizona; and Salinas, Chualar, Delhi in California.
The Gonzales facility is expected to support Mann’s plans of expanding its processing and produce goods such as slaws and gourmet vegetables.
With Mann now engaged in growing its product line to include fresh-cut fruit, Gonzales is said to be the only facility in the valley to processes both fruit and vegetables.
