Chobani is giving its employees time away from the production line to get their COVID-19 vaccines. Thats according to an announcement made today from Peter McGuinness. The President and COO indicated Chobani would cover up to six hours paid time off for each of its roughly 2,200 employees to get their vaccines when they become available. The six hours includes two three-hour windows for both the first and second doses of the vaccine.
“We’re taking our mission to keep our people safe one step further today," said McGuinness. "It’s simple, fair and the right thing to do. Our plant employees have been on the frontlines of putting food on America’s kitchen table 24/7 during this pandemic. They’re the heart of our company and we’ll do whatever we can to protect them.”
Despite vaccines not being widely available yet, Chobani says it is working with state and local officials regarding when vaccines might be available for all of their U.S. teams.
