US-based AH Company International Distribution has issued a recall of 30,081lb of pork pâté products, which were imported without the benefit of inspection, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
based in Garden Grove, California, AH Company imported heat-treated shelf stable pork pâté items from an ineligible establishment and distributed them in the US without undergoing FSIS import re-inspection.
The products subject to the recall include 240g cans of Monique Ranou Pâté de Foie, 240g cans of Monique Ranou Pâté de Campagne and 180g jars of Monique Ranou Pâté de Campagne Supérieur.
They also bear the French establishment number ‘FR 56-246-008 CE’, which is an ineligible establishment, according to FSIS.
The items were shipped to distributor locations across the US market. FSIS identified the issue during its routine verification activities and stated that anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers have been urged not to eat the products and either dispose of or return them to the place of purchase.
The recall is categorised as Class I, which indicates that consumption of the product could cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
In December 2020, CLS Gourmet CL Saigon Food Company recalled 128,841lb of various meat products from the US market, which were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.
The items that were subject to recall included a variety of pork roll products flavoured with fish sauce.
According to FSIS, these raw and fully cooked meat products were produced and distributed between 29 April and 5 December.
