UK cereal manufacturer Bokomo Foods has acquired Streamfoods Holdings as part of its continuing expansion, following a recent move to larger premises.
The acquisition of the company, which produces childrens snack food brand Fruit Bowl, aligns with Bokomo Foods strategy to build its portfolio and enter into the UK branded market.
"I very much see this acquisition as a vital part of improving and enhancing our growth and performance here in the UK," says Bokomo CEO John Hiles. "It complements our current portfolio and enables us to deliver a branded, on shelf presence in major retailers such as Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury.
"We will expand our reach in the UK snacking category, which will result in exciting new product choices for UK consumers, while at the same time providing own brand cereals to all major supermarkets in the UK."
Streamfoods exports to Europe, China and South Africa and has the capacity and expertise to expand into the fast growing adult fruit snacking range.
"Streamfoods is a premium, value added manufacturer with the ability to generate high growth in the health conscious UK and European markets. Its production facility is situated close to Bokomos Peterborough muesli and granola factory and employs approximately 90 people – who we are delighted to welcome to the Bokomo family," adds Hiles.
