Artificial Intelligence (AI) and nutrition technology company Spoon Guru has formed an alliance with Google Cloud to bring personalized nutrition to the digital grocery space. The partnership is piloting an AI and algorithm-driven recommendation engine for more accurately tailored product search options.
Spoon Guru expects that the partnership will allow consumers to access customized digital nutrition services and recommendations at any time and from anywher wher they can access the internet.
“Spoon Guru is already enabling health personalization for retailers globally and we are excited to see the value they will bring to our retail customers,” states Paul Tepfenhart, director of global retail solutions at Google Cloud.
“Finding products for individual dietary and health needs can be challenging so this partnership between Google Cloud and Spoon Guru will enable customers with technologies that provide even more satisfying and relevant experiences to their end consumer.”
Personalized nutrition for the masses
According to Spoon Guru, the greatest advantage of the partnership is that it brings relevant recommendations based on consumers’ health needs, dietary preferences and lifestyles to any company using the Google Cloud Marketplace.
The partnership will allow online retailers to provide a customized nutrition experience to consumers. The AI nutrition technology company further reports that it has deployed several AI solutions to grocers and retailers worldwide. It also states that it has worked with public health organizations and in the US and Europe, as well as certified nutrition experts to ensure the accuracy of their proprietary algorithm.
“Spoon Guru’s partnership with Google Cloud represents a significant step forward to helping global retailers provide accurate and personalized food recommendations for their customers, and ultimately further our mission to improve people’s lives by helping them eat well and live better,” explains Markus Stripf, co-founder and CPMO of Spoon Guru.
A necessary addition to the digital space
Spoon Guru flags that easy-use-to personalized nutrition options are imperative as many experts are warning of a diet-related health crisis that has caused spikes in several non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Additionally, a poor diet – even more than smoking cigarettes – has been reported as the greatest determinant of poor health and results may be responsible for up to 11 million preventable deaths each year.
Spoon Guru holds that giving consumers more options with the input of qualified health professionals via their AI and algorithms will allow them to make better and healthier choices in “easy and engaging” ways.
