Uncooked chicken

In the UK, Iceland is recalling its Iceland Ready Cooked Diced Chicken Breast due to the possibility of some packs containing uncooked chicken.

The recalled packs weigh 800g and have a best before date of 17 June 2023.

To inform those who purchased the product, Iceland is issuing a point-of-sale notice in all retail stores that sell the product. This notice explains why the product is being recalled and tells customers what to do if they have bought the product.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has asked consumers not to eat the product, instead it can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Undeclared allergens

Elsewher in the UK, Lidl GB is recalling Birchwood 2 Breaded Katsu Kiev because of the possibility of it containing milk that is not mentioned on the label.

This has occurred due to the product being mispacked with Garlic and Herb Chicken Kiev which does contain milk.

The product comes in a 260g pack size and has a use by date of 24 October 2022.

Lidl GB has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations which will inform their members about the recall. Additionally, the company has issued a point to sale notice to its customers.

Consumers should not eat the product if they have an allergy or intolerance to milk. Instead, they can return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

Meanwhile, US manufacturer Albertsons Companies has recalled its ReadyMeals Chicken Salad Quad and Chicken Salad Sandwich Club Tray products that were prepared in certain Albertsons and Safeway stores. This recall is due to the presence of undeclared tree nuts (cashews)

Consumers who have bought the products that have an allergy to tree nuts have been urged not to consume these items, instead they should discard them or return them to their local store for a full refund.

The recalled products were available for purchase at Albertsons and Safeway stores in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming.

All customers who have purchased this product have been advised not to eat it. Instead, consumers can return it to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.
