To kick off the year, Numerator announced its picks for the “Brands to Watch in 2023,” and food and beverage companies secured several spots in each category. All the brands on Numerator’s radar were top performers in 2022 and are on track for success in the year ahead.
Numerator’s list of the top “big brands” of 2022 featured billion-dollar CPG companies with high household penetration that grew their dollar sales from 2021 to 2022. And food and beverage brands made up the entire list:
Meanwhile, Alanu Nu Celsius, High Noon Sun Slips, Purina, Impossible Foods, Liquid I.V., and Vital Farms were among the top mid-market CPG brands.
Beverage brands dominated the list of 2022’s best new brands, with Prime Hydration at the #1 spot. Alcoholic beverage brands Simply Spiked, Hard Mountain Dew, Neon Burst, and Truly Flavored Vodka also made the list, as did other food and beverage brands including Surfer Boy Pizza, RYSE Fuel, Feastables, and Ac+ion.
Produce brands Reeves Farm and Fyffes Company were among the top e-commerce brands of 2022, while Maseca, BuzzBallz, Olipop were the only food and beverage brands to make the list of top Gen Z brands.
The list of fasting-growing private label brands included several food and beverage brands from stores like Target, Giant Food, Food City, and more.
