In the US, Meijer is recalling selec Fresh from Meijer premade salads as they are potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Meijer works in conjunction with its supplier, Revolution Farms, and it has said that this recall is part of a wilder Revolution Farms lettuce recall. The affected premade salads sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.

Meijer has claimed that it not aware of any illnesses from the brand’s salad products included in this recall.

Customers that have purchased any of the affected salads have been advised to immediately throw it away. They can request a full refund at the customer service desk of their nearest Meijer store.

Undeclared allergens

Supermarket giant Tesco is recalling its Free from Bran Flakes because some of the packs may contain another cereal (chocolate pillows) that contains milk and hazelnuts which are not mentioned on the label.

The product has a pack size of 300g and a best before date of 26 May 2024.

Taking action, Tesco is recalling the product and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations that can inform their members about the recall. In addition the company has also issued a recall notice to its customers to explain what they should do if they have bought the product.

Advice states that customers with an allergy of intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to hazelnuts should not eat it. Instead, they can return it to a Tesco store for a full refund and no receipt is required.

Elsewher in the UK, Booths is recalling its Booths 2 Lemon Bakewell Tarts because they contain milk that is not mentioned on the label.

The product comes in a pack size of 2 x 90g and the recall affects all batch codes. The affected use by dates are all dates up to and including 19 April 2023.

Booths has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations that will inform their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point of sale notice to its customers to explain why the product is being recalled.

Customers that have bought the product and have an allergy to milk should not eat it. Booths has said that they can return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
