Foreign objects

In the UK, Premier Foods is recalling various Ambrosia My Mini Pots as they may contain pieces of plastic.

The Food Standards Agency has published an updat saying that due to the presence of a foreign object, the product presents a “possible choking hazard”.

The recalled Ambrosia My Mini Custard Pots come in a pack size of 6x55g. This recall concerns all best before dates between April 2024 and October 2024.

In addition, the Ambrosia My Mini 30 percent Less Sugar Custard Pots are being recalled. These come in a pack size of 6x55g and the best before date to look out for are all date between April 2024 and October 2024. Premier Foods is also recalling its Ambrosia My Mini Rice Pots (pack size 6x55g), with all best before dates between April 2024 and October 2024.

As well as recalling the above products, Premier Foods has issued a recall notice to its customers to explain why the products are being recalled.

Those that have purchased any of the recalled items have been advised not to eat them. Instead they can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Undeclared allergens

Elsewher in the UK, Asda is recalling its Frozen Crispy Hash Browns as some packs have been mispacked with Potato Croquettes that contain milk and wheat (gluten), which are not mentioned on the label.

The Asda Frozen Crispy Hash Browns come in a pack size of 800g and have a best before date of 30 June 2025.

The supermarket giant is recalling the above product from consumers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations. The company has issued a point of ale notice to its consumers to explain what they should do if they have purchased the product.

Consumers that have purchased the Frozen Crispy Hash Browns and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, and/or coeliac disease, advice states that you should not eat it. Instead the product can be returned to the store for purchase for a full refund.  

Meanwhile in the US, Richelieu Foods Inc. Wheeling Illinois is recalling the 365 Whole Foods Market Vegan Ultimate Veggie Thin Crust Pizza, as it may contain trace amounts of an undeclared milk allergen.

The LOT code to look out for is 06152024 and the best by date of the recalled product is 6/15/2024.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration’s website, some of the recalled products was “inadvertently shipped” to some Whole Foods retail stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The company has shared that this recall concerns “no more than 144 individual pizzas that inadvertently entered the supply chain”.

“All other Whole Foods 365 pizzas are properly labelled, and no other products are included. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date,” said Richelieu Foods Inc.

Advice to consumers states that those who have purchased the affected products should not consume them. Instead they should dispose of it or return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
