In the UK, Sainsbury’s is recalling its ‘by Sainsbury’s Flaked Almonds’ as Salmonella has been found in the product.
The product comes in a pack size of 200g. The batch codes to look out for are 4044, 4045 and the best before date involved in this recall is February 2025.
As well as recalling the product, Sainsbury’s will be displaying point of sale notices in its stores to explain to consumers what they should do if they have purchased the product.
Advice states that consumers should not eat the product. It can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.
Meanwhile, Morrisons has shared that it is “taking the precautionary action” of recalling The Best Taleggio as Listeria monocytogenes is present in the product.
The Best Taleggio comes in a pack size of 200g and has a use by date of 14 April 2024.
Morrisons has said that it will be displaying point of sale notices in all retail stores that stocked the product.
Consumers have been advised to not eat the product if they have purchased it. Instead they can return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
Meanwhile, in the US, Tropicale Foods of Modesto, California is recalling a total of 5,224 units of Helados Mexico Mini Cream Variety Pack as certain products may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Products included in the recall have a best by date of MO Best By 10/11/2025” and were distributed to retail locations in the following states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgina, Wisconsin, West Virgina, Washington, DC. As well as this the products were distributed to various locations across Europe.
The company has claimed that “no illnesses have been reported to date.”.
Now, the company has /confirm/ied that it has “ceased distribution of the affected product” and is in the process of conducting an investigation into what caused the problem. It has said that it will “take effective action to prevent any future issue”.
Anyone that has purchased the product has been advised to dispose of it and not consume it.
