In the UK, Unilever is recalling its Magnum Almond Ice Cream Sticks due to a “possible presence” of plastic and metal in certain packs.

The recalled items come in a 3x100ml pack, and affected batch codes include L3338, L3339, L3340, L3341 and L3342. The best before date to look out for is “end of December 2025”.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has confirmed that point of sale notices will be displayed in all stores that sold the product to explain what customers should do if they have purchased it.

Advice states that customers should not eat the product. Instead queries or concerns can be highlighted to the Unilever careline team.

Undeclared allergens

Meanwhile, in the US, Roly Poly Bakery is recalling its 20 ounce loafs of Roly Poly multigrain bread as the product contains egg that has not been mentioned on the label.

The affected product was sold at Roly Poly Bakery, at Polmart, Connecticut, New Britain Market Place, Connecticut, Bernat’s Deli, Massachusetts and Golemo’s Market, Massachusetts.

The recalled items were sold in a 20-ounce clear plastic bag marked with product information on top. The bar-coded part number involved in this recall is 5005-8723 and the products would reportedly have been purchased “prior to 04/11/2024”.

The company has claimed that “no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product”.

In a statement posted to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, Roly Poly Bakery has said “production of the product has been suspended until CT Consumer Protection and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected”.

Advice to consumers states that those who have purchased the recalled product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
