US-based Smithfield Foods has launched an antibiotic-free line of fresh pork products under its Pure Farms brand.
The pork processor and hog producer claims that its products are in line with USDA standards with minimum processing and no antibiotics, steroids, hormones or artificial ingredients.
Smithfield Foods president and chief executive officer Ken Sullivan said: "The Pure Farms brand is ideal for families looking to enjoy the highest quality, antibiotic-free pork."
The company further explained that a complete range of products will be available in fresh pork cuts, ham cuts and packaged pork cuts such as breakfast sausage and bacon will be available at retail stores this month.
Smithfield Foods regulatory affairs vice-president and chief sustainability officer Stewart Leeth said: "This new line from Pure Farms reflects Smithfields continued commitment to meeting the needs of all consumers with good food that is made the right way.
"The Pure Farms brand is ideal for families looking to enjoy the highest quality, antibiotic-free pork."

Since 2007, Smithfield has been the only company in the industry to report antibiotics usage.
