US Foods has agreed to acquire Alabama-based SRA Foods, which is engaged in meat processing and distribution activities.

Expected to close later this month, financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Established in 1940, SRA Foods has a 70,000ft² facility that features a product line of more than 1,000 food items.

US Foods’ Stock Yards president David Norton said: “The Anselmo family has built an incredible reputation for providing only the highest quality meats to more than 1,000 customers throughout the Birmingham area.

US Foods will continue to operate the SRA Foods facility in Birmingham, and is expected to retain its employees.
