Global food testing company Eurofins Scientific has acquired Turkey’s food testing laboratory Gözlem Gýda Kontrol ve Araþtýrma Laboratuvarlarý.
With the acquisition of Gözlem, Eurofins has obtained a platform to accelerate the rollout of its capabilities to serve the food and beverage industry, which is at almost 19% GDP.
Gözlem will also be able to leverage the network capabilities and tests portfolio of Eurofins in a bid to accelerate its market share expansion.
The company will also gain market leadership in Turkey’s fastest-growing regions.
Eurofins CEO Dr Gilles Martin said: “The acquisition of Gözlem is another demonstration of our commitment to continuously reinforce our market leadership in the EMEA region.
“We are looking forward to strengthening Gözlem’s market position by giving it access to the full range of services and capabilities of the Eurofins Group.”
Founded in 2002, Gözlem operates one laboratory in Istanbul and internal laboratories at 13 client sites in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
Last September, Eurofins had opened a new food testing laboratory in Singapore to serve the regional food industry.
Located in Paya Lebar, the new 557m² facility has access to logistical network of the group in the region.
Eurofins offers more than 130,000 analytical methods to evaluate the safety, identity, composition, authenticity, origin and purity of biological substances and products.
