US-based speciality ingredient producer Innophos Holdings (Innophos) has signed a $125m definitive agreement to acquire Novel Ingredients, a company based in New Jersey, US.

The target company is owned by private equity firm GenNx360 Capital Partners and manufactures dietary supplement ingredient solutions.

Innophos intends to fund the acquisition through loans.

The acquisition is expected to be in line with the acquirer’s Vision 2022 strategy to expand its food, health and nutrition portfolio, while expanding business and developing innovative solutions for improved customer satisfaction.

Innophos has respectively engaged Lazard and Baker Botts as financial and legal advisers, while Winston & Strawn is acting as legal adviser for Novel Ingredients.
