The company has seleced the state due to its proximity to the company’s headquarters in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada, as well as its strategic location that will provide access to existing and potentially new retailer distribution facilities.

Covering a total of 60 acres, the expansion is reported to be in line with the company’s plan to meet their US customer demands for locally grown fresh produce.

The new facility will be equipped with grow light technology to allow year-round production and a 272,000ft² distribution warehouse to support the companys US customer base.

Mucci Farms has already started the first phase of construction, which covers 24 acres.

Produce from this facility is expected to be available by next March.

The company aims to initially employ up to 100 full-time employees upon completion of the first phase. This will increase to 250 full-time positions when the third phase of construction has been completed.
