UK-based snack maker Yumsh Snacks has entered an agreement with a new distributor, Canadian Choice Wholesalers, to export its Ten Acre Snacks products.
The contract was announced by the company after UK Prime Minister Theresa May met with Canadian businesses and investors during her trip to strengthen trade ties with Canada.
As part of the deal, Ten Acre Snacks will be exporting its hand-cooked crisps and popcorn to its new Canadian distributor.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May said: “It’s great news that Ten Acre has won this deal to supply their unique products throughout Western Canada.
“We know there’s a strong global demand for high-quality food and drink from the UK and I want to see more firms building links in lucrative markets such as Canada and the US.
"We expect to build sales to more than £200,000 a year and develop a loyal clientele across the region."
“I’ve been using my trip to further strengthen the partnership between our countries and show that there are great investment and trading opportunities available in the UK.”
The snack maker will be shipping its first consignment to Canada later this month.
Ten Acre products are claimed to be gluten, dairy and GMO-free, as well as vegan, halal and kosher certified.
