Australia’s dairy ingredient processor Burra Foods (Burra) has unveiled its plans to build a new infant formula blending and canning plant at Korumburra town in Victoria.
For building its new plant, Burra Foods will invest A$24.5m ($18.5m), which is reported to be one of the major investments made by the company for the plant expansion since 2011.
The new facility will enable Burra to deliver ‘consumer-ready’ canned products as well as increase its warehouse capacity and also create 39 new employment opportunities in the region.
Burra noted that the Government of Victoria has agreed to provide financial assistance to the company for constructing its new facility.
“Construction works are expected to begin by the first quarter of next year.”

The production site is slated for completion in 2019 and is expected to be commissioned during 2020, subject to regulatory approvals.
For more than two decades, Burra Foods has been engaged in the production of value-added dairy products to the global food manufacturing industry.
Its products portfolio includes natural cheese, fresh milk concentrates food preparations, speciality milk powders, and fresh dairy ingredients.
