Fisheries production stable

based on the statistics collected from 20 national main fisheries production provinces, the total production (not include the marine fishing production) of aquatic products from January to June is 27, 819, 100 tonnes, increasing by 3.03% year on year. The production of farmed aquatic product is 21, 932, 800 tonnes, growing by 3.73% year on year, while the caught production is up to 5, 886, 200 tonnes, increasing by 0.5% year on year.

Aquatic product prices rise gently, international trading drops first and then grows up

The comprehensive average price of aquatic product on wholesale market is 23.15 yuan/kg, growing by 5.22% year on year. Ocean water aquatic product average price is 42.69 yuan/kg, increasing by 8.35% year on year, while the freshwater aquatic product is 15.52 yuan/kg, 1.25% more year on yea.

China aquatic product import and export trade drops sharply in Q1, but gradually recovers in Q2. From January to June, China imported and exported a total of 3, 935, 100 tonnes of aquatic product, whose total volume of trade is 13. 922 billion US dollars, increasing by 2.72% and 1.42% respectively. The export amount is 1, 968,300 tonnes with a 9. 627 billion US dollars worth of trade volume, growing by 3.99% and 0.48% respectively.

Ocean fisheries resources in poor condition, illegal fishing problems serious and needing much effort

According to monitoring data of fishing, the ocean fishing resources are relatively poor in the first half of 2015. The overall sailing rate of fishing boat and operating days are slightly lower than that of the same period in last year. The aquatic products prices increase because of the dro of traditional fishing production, among which the hairtail, little yellow croaker, squid and mackerel prices increase by more than 20%.

Industry shuffling speeds up, excess processing capacity released

In recent years, China gradually loses its export price advantages of aquatic product, especially in last year when global economy recovers slowly and aquatic product consumption shrinks. Some export-oriented processing companies have to face unprecedented difficult situations, while some companies’ production reduces, even go bankrupt. The industry shuffling speeds up. Since the Q2, global aquatic product consumption starts to recover and international orders increase. Meanwhile, the excess production capacity is released after the shuffling. The company’s orders also grow. After the recession, aquatic product processing industry show some recovering sign.
