At the same time, local eggplant production areas in Henan bring their harvest to the market in large volumes. This has caused the price to fall and fall again. Second, the purple eggplant production areas in Shandong grow eggplants in greenhouses with a relatively high cost price, while local production areas grow open-field eggplants with a lower cost price. Third, the price of Shandong purple eggplants cools down around this time every year as a result of local vegetable supply.
