Canadian biotechnology company Naturally Splendid Enterprises has secured another purchase order from its Australian distributor for Natera branded products valued at around C$100,000 ($76,713).

It is the third order that has been placed by the Australian distributor for Natera branded products since last year.

Naturally Splendid president Craig Goodwin said: “Our vertical integration strategy creates a unique position for the company when measured against most other hemp companies.

“Since our first shipment to Australia, we have solidified our vertical integration to include our own hemp processing, expanded our bar manufacturing and test kitchen facility, applied for our dealer license, allowing for the extraction of cannabidiol (CBD) from hemp amongst many other activities.”

Naturally Splendid anticipates that the recent shipment is intended to expand the Natera consumer base and further penetrate into the Australian market.

The Australian multi-divisional distribution company operates eight subsidiaries covering retail, food service, and practitioner markets.

Naturally Splendid CEO Douglas Mason said: “The position of AgriFutures Australia sends a positive signal in our opinion for evolving hemp regulations, including CBD, derived in our case from hemp.

“Our previously announced Dealer License application, as well as plans to build our own CBD extraction facility, further strengthens our opportunity in Australia.

“We look forward to expanding our product offerings as regulations allow.”
