"Like most agricultural products, the growth of apples is mainly affected by the climatic conditions. Due to the cold weather on April 6-7, the flowering process of apple trees in the production areas of the country has been seriously affected this year, leading to a significant fall in apple production. The reduction in supply has greatly increased the price of apples. The current purchase price of Gala has reached more than 3 yuan," according to the Jingning Xinlong Fruit Trading Co., Ltd.

"In the Gansu producing area, the season of Huaniu apples and Gala apples has kicked off and will end in more than one month and a fortnight respectively. It is estimated that compared with the previous season, this seasons Huaniu apples have reduced production by about 50%, and Gala apples by 40% to 50%."

"We have a joint control planting base in Gansu with farmers, exporting apples and pears to Southeast Asian countries and regions such as Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, and domestic wholesale markets and supermarkets through traditional wholesale models and B2B platforms such as Alibaba. Before June last year, India was also one of our main export destinations. Later, due to various factors, India imposed a ban on apples from China and our exports to India have therefore stagnated. We hope in the near future this market will be reopened."

"Our processing factory with a higher standard will be completed and put into production in two months. As a comprehensive enterprise integrating fruit purchase, storage, processing and sales, we are now making efforts to enter the European and American markets and so our apples can enter the international market at a faster pace."
