Firmenich has opened of a new taste creation facility in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, in the Philippines. Seeking to reinforce the company’s footprint in Southeast Asia, the taste creation hub features high-tech labs and “cutting-edge sensory capabilities” to shape the future of food in this dynamic region, reports the company.
The opening ceremony was attended by Andrea Reichlin, Switzerland’s Ambassador to the Philippines, as well as local guests, Firmenich customers and senior executives.
“Staying at the forefront of creativity and innovation is paramount for us to be the Taste and Nutrition partner of choice,” says Gilbert Ghostine, CEO, Firmenich. “We have been present and continuously investing in the Philippines since 1996, and continue to deliver the most innovative and consumer-focused taste solutions to our customers.”
“We believe our local communities will benefit from Firmenich’s expanded presence in the Philippines, as it puts its science to work to address key global challenges such as health and nutrition or climate change,” notes Reichlin. “Firmenich’s inclusive approach, alongside its high-quality Swiss standards, gives the company an edge to create value for its customers, consumers and society today and tomorrow.”

Building on Firmenich’s culinary discovery center in Thailand, launched earlier this year, this new taste creation facility further enhances the strategic importance of South East Asia for the company, reports Firmenich.
The company also recently announced strong results for its fiscal year 2018, reporting CHF3.7 billion (US$3.713 billion) in net revenues, a 9.6 percent increase in Swiss Francs versus prior year.
Seeking to advance its purpose as creators of positive emotions by enhancing wellbeing naturally, Firmenich also delivered a number of innovation breakthroughs this year, including the launch of its latest taste modulation solution TastePRINT, enabling a 100 percent reduction of sugar naturally.
