Imperial Taste Onions and Tres Hermanos Bakery Bread Recalled

Two products; Tres Hermanos Bakery Bread, and Imperial Taste Fried Red onions and Fried Garlic, are being recalled because they contain food allergens that are not declared on the label. There was a complaint in the case of the Imperial Taste products.

The first recall is for Tres Hermanos Bakery Bread, for undeclared milk. The breads are white Telera and Bolillo Mexican salt breads. They were sold from the Tres Hermanos Bakery located at 1442 Burton SW in Wyoming, as well as at retailers in Allegan, Ingham, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Oceana and VanBuren counties. The recalled breads are packaged in clear plastic bags, each 1 pound 2 ounce in weight. There is a white label and black lettering on each bag. The expiration date on these breads ranges from November 20, 2018 to December 19, 2018. Inspection by the the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development found that the breads contain whey, a derivative of milk.

The second recall is for Gemini Food Corporation Imperial Taste Fried Red onions & Fried Garlic, for undeclared wheat. Anyone who is allergic to wheat and anyone who has celiac disease is at risk with these products. The recalled items are Imperial Taste Fried Red onion in 24 x 8 ounce packages. The item number is 1760 and the UPC number is 741861017607. Also recalled is Imperial Taste Fried Red onion in 24 x 12 ounce packages. The item number is 1761 and the UPC number is 741861017614. Imperial Taste Fried Garlic in 24 x 12 ounce packages is also recalled. The item number on that product is 1762 and the UPC number is 741861017621. Finally, Imperial Taste Fried Garlic in 24 x 8 ounce packages is recalled. The item number on that product is 1763 and the UPC number is 741861017638.

The company is removing all affected product from store shelves. One compliant has been received, and one allergic reaction is associated with this recall.

If you bought any of these products and are allergic to the ingredients, don’t eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
