The Brenntag Food & Nutrition business unit in North America, part of the Brenntag Group, has entered a new agreement with AB Enzymes, Inc., for the distribution of a range of enzymes in the US and Canada. As an industrial biotech company AB Enzymes specializes in developing, manufacturing and supplying enzymes for food and nutrition applications worldwide. The companies say that coming together under this distribution agreement will “combine capabilities to create a powerful new options for customers.”
The new agreement allows Brenntag to distribute AB Enzymes’ product line that includes:
Veron for baking, flour milling and pasta applications for process optimization, better dough handling and narrower process control.
Rohalse for grain and oilseed manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency and increase performance.
Rohament for fruits, vegetables, juices and wines for optimal cellulose breakdown, increased quality, and improved clarification and filtration.
Rohapect for fruits, vegetables, juices and wines for optimal pectin breakdown, increased quality, and improved clarification and filtration.
Rohavin for fruits, vegetables, juices and wines for optimal pectin breakdown, increased quality, and improved clarification and filtration.
Corolase for protein processing and modification to improve digestibility and antioxidant capability, and reduction in allergenic compounds.

Headquartered in Germany, AB Enzymes provides enzyme solutions to meet functional and technical requirements of their customers using their R&D labs and manufacturing facilities.
Earlier this year the company launched the latest addition to its Rohalase grain processing enzyme portfolio. Rohalase Separation is a food-grade enzyme product specifically developed for wheat-starch-gluten separation processes with many benefits, including reduced viscosity, optimized separation of starch and gluten phases, reduced fresh-water consumption and reduced energy consumption.
AB Enzymes is part of ABF Ingredients (ABFI), a division of Associated British Foods.

In February, US-based ingredients supplier BI Nutraceuticals (BI) partnered with food and nutrition experts Brenntag Canada Inc. to strengthen its reach in Canada. The partnership will allow Brenntag to widen its portfolio to include ingredients that are healthier, natural and on-trend.
Last October, Brenntag became the exclusive distribution partner for Cargill’s industrial cocoa and chocolate in the Central Eastern European (CEE) region. The distribution agreement includes Cargill’s leading Gerkens cocoa powder brand, as well as its broad chocolate range, which includes a variety of chocolate inclusions, coatings and fillings.
