MIBO Fresh Foods of Fort Worth, Texas, is recalling about 1,460 pounds of HEB Chef salad with ham and turkey because the salad contains anchovies, one of the major food allergens under the fish category, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to fish who eats this product could experience a severe allergic reaction. No illness or allergic reactions have been reported to date in connection with this recalled item.

The ready-t0-eat HEB Chef salad with ham and turkey was produced on May 10 and May 13, 2019. The recalled product is 9.65 ounce clear plastic packages containing “H.E.B. Meal Simple Chef Salad with Homestyle Ranch Dressing.” The product has “best by” dates 05-18-19 and 05-20-19 on the label. These salads have the establishment number “EST. P-27399” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label. They were shipped to retail locations in Texas.

If you purchased this HEB Chef salad with ham and turkey and are allergic to anchovies, or fish, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

FSIS is making sure this product is removed from store shelves and that the company is notifying its customers about this recall.
