US-based Greek yoghurt maker Chobani has opened its 71,000ft² Innovation & Community Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Through its new facility, the company aims to promote a culture of collaboration, creativity, innovation and wellness.
Chobani founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya said: “It is so important that we invest as much time, energy and dedication to the well-being of our people as we do our products. This new Innovation & Community Center makes us more connected to our people, our plant and to our community.
“That was our vision from the very beginning and I am so thrilled this centre will serve as a bridge to Chobani’s exciting and bold future.”
The facility has been designed by Idaho-based architects and engineers and design firm CSHQA. It will serve as the company’s Global Research & Development Center and focus on the creation of new yoghurt and non-yoghurts.
The company further added that the centre has been designed to enhance energy efficiency, as well as reduce waste and improve recycling practices.
Idaho Governor Brad Little said: “Chobani’s latest investment in its state-of-the-art Innovation & Community Center underscores its commitment to Idaho.
“We are grateful to the leadership and employees at Chobani for their continued dedication to excellence, which only serves to help us in our goal to make Idaho a place wher our children and grandchildren choose to stay.”
Last month, Chobani unveiled a comprehensive programme to support the future of the dairy industry.
The programme, dubbed Milk Matters, supports the company’s continued commitment to the economic, environmental and social impacts of dairy farms using a holistic approach.
It seeks more transparency to provide support and preserve the long-term viability of the dairy industry.
