Everybody knows that peeling onions often results in shedding tears. But this could become a thing of the past thanks to the work of a Japanese company.

Indeed, the company House Foods announced that it had developed onions that do not make you cry when peeled. According to the researchers, this new variety of onions contains only a very small quantity of the enzyme responsible for tears. Besides, the originality of this invention is that the peeling supposedly makes you laugh. No more tears, time to laugh!

It has been more than 10 years since researchers at this firm in Higashiōsaka started working on the enzyme responsible for tears when peeling onions. However, the new onions will not be available for sale right away. We will have to be patient.
