US-based La Bodega Meat has recalled nearly 83,038lb of raw beef products, which were not presented for import reinspection into the country.
According to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) a wide range of beef products were imported on 2 and 3 June.
The raw beef products that are subject to recall include 51.90lb boxes containing various cuts such as Boneless Ribeye Roll, Flank Steak, Fresh Boneless Brisket, Fresh Eye of Round, Fresh Flap Meat, Fresh Inside Skirt, Fresh Outside Round and Fresh Top Sirloin.
The recall also includes other products such as Inside Round, Outside Skirt, Peeled Knuckle and Shoulder Clod.
The issue was identified during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products.
FSIS noted that the raw beef products were shipped to distributor locations in Arkansas, Missouri and Texas for foodservice and retail sales.
It added that the product at the retail level will not have any unique identifying labels.
