A veteran snack-food industry executive will join Campbell Soup Co. as head of its snack division.
Valerie Oswalt was named Executive Vice President and President of Campbell Snacks, effective March 9. Oswalt will be responsible for a portfolio of products, including Pepperidge Farm, Snyder’s of Hanover, Lance, Kettle Brand, Cape Cod and others, that had sales of $3.8 billion last year.
Oswalt was most recently CEO of Century Snacks, a processor of seasoned nuts, trail mixes and other better-for-you snacks. She also worked as president of the North American Confections business at Mondelēz, and has help positions at Kraft Foods and Deloitte.
Oswalt will report directly to Campbell CEO Mark Clouse. “Having worked closely with Val in the past, I have seen firsthand her ability to lead large organizations and deliver strong business results,” Rouse said in a statement. “I’m confident that she is the right choice, and a great cultural fit, to grow our differentiated Snacks portfolio. Her diverse background and cross-functional expertise will be invaluable to our leadership team and to our company.”
