Plant-based meat substitute manufacturer Impossible Foods has launched its Impossible Burger across nearly 2,100 Walmart Supercenter and Walmart Neighborhood Market locations in the US.

With the addition of Walmart stores, Impossible Burger is currently available in 8,000 retail outlets across the US.

Impossible Foods noted that since March, the company has expanded its retail footprint by more than 50 times.

Impossible Foods founder and CEO Dr Patrick O Brown said: “Impossible Foods’ goal is to make the global food system sustainable. To do that, Impossible Burger has to be available everywher people shop for meat.

“More Americans buy meat for their families at Walmart than anywher else. We’re confident that once Walmart customers try Impossible, they’ll become enthusiastic advocates of our products and our mission.”

based in California’s Silicon Valley, Impossible Foods has been engaged in the manufacture of plant-based meat and dairy products since its inception in 2011.

The company claims that its ‘Impossible Burger’ contains much protein and bioavailable iron in comparison to ground beef from cows.
