Branded packaged meat company Plumrose USA has revealed plans to develop a new production facility.
With an estimated investment of $200m, the company will build an Italian meats and charcuterie production facility.
It is part of the company’s plan to invest in new and “on-trend products” to grow its portfolio in the long-term.
Details about the size and location of the plant have not been disclosed; however, the company said it will be “strategically located”.
According to Plumrose USA, the new facility’s location will allow it to “efficiently access raw material and leverage synergies with existing corporate assets”.
Plumrose USA president Thomas Lopez said: “Plumrose USA is uniquely positioned to meet growing consumer demand for great-tasting, high-quality Italian meats, like salami and prosciutto.
“The project reinforces our strategic commitment to grow our business and be a stronger partner for our customers, provide increased opportunities for our team members and realise the full potential of protein.” Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Plumrose USA specialises in offering premium bacon and a range of deli products.
Currently, the company has six production facilities in several US locations, namely Booneville, Mississippi, Elkhart, Indiana, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ottumwa, Iowa and Swanton, Vermont.
In 2017, the company was acquired by American food company JBS USA and has since been growing significantly.
JBS USA provides a range of food products and has a portfolio of popular brands and premium products. Its operations are spread across the US, Mexico, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
