The funding round was led by a group of Chinese investors, including Sky9 Capital, Matrix Partners China and Joy Capital.
Starfield intends to use the funding to develop a research and development (R&D) facility in Shenzhen to develop new plant-based meat products.
Established last year, Starfield develops plant-based meat alternatives using seaweed protein.
Starfield’s product portfolio includes a wide range of plant-based meat products ranging from burger patties to mince, which are produced and packed in its Hongchang facility.
Starfield co-founder Kiki Wu said: “The core mission of Starfield is to enable consumers to live a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with the earth and the environment.
“Our goal is to become an impactful food technology company, bringing healthy and environmentally friendly products to every corner of the world and promoting the development of sustainable food technology globally.”
