Molson Coors has made a deal with Coca-Cola to produce and distribute its new Topo Chico hard seltzer in the U.S.
Molson Coors will market, manufacture and distribute Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, a product introduced by Cola-Cola this year and sold up to now only in Latin America. The beverage is based on Topo Chico carbonated mineral water, a 125-year-old brand that has a cult following in Texas. Coca-Cola bought Topo Chico in 2017.
Topo Chico will be the third hard seltzer in Molson Coors’ portfolio, along with Vizzy and Coors Seltzer, launched earlier this year. The distribution agreement with Coca-Cola is the second for Molson Coors this month. It announced a partnership to produce and distribute Yuengling beer in mid-September.
Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will come in four flavors: Tangy Lemon Lime, Exotic Pineapple, Strawberry Guava and Tropical Mango.
The deal with Coca-Cola “is another significant step in growing our above-premium portfolio and becoming a major competitor in the rapidly growing hard seltzer segment, both key components of our revitalization plan,” Gavin Hattersley, CEO of Molson Coors, said in a statement.
