General Mills is telling its employees to work from home, if they can, until next May at least.
The company extended its work-at-home mandate for corporate employees, which had been set this past May and had been due to expire on Labor Day. The new mandate extends to May 2021, which is the end of General Mills’ fiscal year.
"In the future, we expect the majority of our employees will return to the workplace and many of us are likely to blend time in the office with personal work time at home,” spokesperson Kelsey Roemhildt told the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
General Mills has kept its manufacturing plants operating throughout the pandemic, which has increased demand for its cereals and other products.
