Paradise Fruits Solutions by Jahncke has launched a range of allergy-free nut flavored granulates, igniting appeal for those with allergies. The nut-free granulates have significant advantages because they offer an authentic nut taste and aroma, which are entirely natural.
Demand from confectionery and baked goods producers for nut flavors without the use of real nut ingredients has led to this new range.
According to Paradise Fruits, it is especially relevant as research has shown that as many as 11.7 percent of the European population could be affected by a nut allergy.
Appeal for manufacturers
The new nut-free granulates are available in eight flavors, including almond, peanut, peanut caramel, peanut chocolate, hazelnut, pecan, walnut and pistachio.
They are expected to appeal to manufacturers of baked goods or chocolate products, general confectionery, cereals and ice cream manufacturers, plus many more applications. These granulates are offered in all standard cutting sizes, including 2-4 mm; 3-5 mm; 4x5 mm; 6x9 mm and 9x9 mm.
The inclusions are more cost-effective for manufacturers, too, as less quantity is required than nuts to achieve the same flavor gained when using whole or chopped nut inclusions.
Not only allergen-free
The new range is also completely allergen-free, as well as being free from palm oil.
Not only are they suitable for those with allergies, but they are gluten-free, kosher and halal and suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets. Also, they are bake-stable and free-flowing, therefore easy to dose.
“In the same way that people with wheat intolerances may still want to enjoy bread – so those with allergies can still enjoy the flavor of nut-based products but without the associated risks,” explains Mike Schmidt, sales director of Paradise Fruits Solutions.
“We see huge potential for this range, as research shows there is a rising number of people throughout the globe with nut allergies, yet they are being demanded as a flavor in many of the most popular baked goods and confectionery products.”
Bespoke formats
The nut-free inclusions can also be developed in bespoke flavor combinations and sizes based on their requirements. Other formats, including a nut-free paste, are also currently in development and available next year.
“Our product development team is always looking to work alongside food manufacturers to develop innovative products that meet consumer demand,” adds Schmidt.
“The allergy-free nut granulates are just the latest example of a range that will help manufacturers to create the products that customers are looking for,” he notes.
Earlier this year, Paradise Fruits launched a range of vitamin-infused fruit shapes and inclusions. This included assorted pure fruit shapes and freeze-dried granulates, which are fortified with a unique combination of vitamins, minerals and extracts to support health and well-being.
