Brenntag & Dr. Suwelack to expand distribution partnership on Milk & More product range

Brenntag Food & Nutrition, UK & Ireland (Brenntag) has been appointed as the sole distribution partner for Dr. Suwelack’s Milk & More product range, effective as of February 1, 2021. 

The partnership will allow customers to access Dr. Suwelack’s extensive portfolio of dried milk specialties through the Brenntag network.

The step further strengthens the relationship between Brenntag and Dr. Suwelack in the UK and Ireland, building upon the long-standing partnership the two organizations have enjoyed in other EMEA countries. 

Growing interest in ingredients derived from milk
“We see an increased demand for ingredients that support a pleasurable eating experience, including products that are made from and derived from milk,” Steve Timms, commercial development manager, tells FoodIngredientsFirst

“Dried specialty milk ingredients enable the food formulator to control the flavor intensity and thereby meet this demand accurately.”

According to Timms, yogurt and blondie chocolate are two areas wher he sees a heightened level of interest.

“Additionally, we see a renewed interest in milk protein and milk fat (in all its forms, including flavored creams and specialty butters) – protein for its important strength-building properties and milk fat for its inherent nutritional components that support a healthy body,” he explains. 

“We look forward to seeing wher this relationship will take us,” adds Timms. 

Enhancing relationships
“We are delighted to form an alliance with Dr. Suwelack on its their range of products bringing together the expertise, infrastructure and creative innovation capabilities of Brenntag’s team and the overarching expertise of Dr. Suwelack,” says Nicola Boulter, director at Brenntag.

“We look forward to developing and broadening relationships with our new and existing customers, meeting the needs of their product requirements and generating NPD projects.” 

Brenntag’s dedicated team of industry professionals is fully supported by Brenntag’s UK Food Application & Development Centre, which works on developing innovative formulations while keeping up to date with market trends and legislation.
