German food ingredients producer Loryma has opened its new research and development (R&D) laboratory for wheat ingredients in Zwingenberg near Frankfurt.
In addition to wheat ingredients, the new test lab will also focus on customer product optimisation and training sessions.
Loryma product development head Norbert Klein said: “The diverse raw material inspires us to constantly develop new processing possibilities and applications in response to market trends.
“We have selected the modern equipment in the technical centre in order to closely replicate large-scale production, thus enabling an uncomplicated scale-up.
“As product developers, we now have the ideal pre-requisites to pick up on new future-oriented trends and implement an uncomplicated and cost-effective manufacturing process with our customers.”
The company’s new technical centre features a professional test kitchen, two laboratories for new meat concepts, a bakery, a breading kitchen and a seminar room for workshops.
Loryma noted that the technical centre has been designed to allow eight employees to test possible processing methods, product stability, the quality of existing applications and new prototypes.
At its centre, Loryma will also organise workshops or webinars to demonstrate to manufacturers the various application possibilities of wheat ingredients, as well as their ease of processing for optimal product concepts.
Loryma currently offers joint development of tailor-made solutions to its partners as a service partner.
