To meet growing demand for its potato products in China, McCain Foods will build a US$200million production facility in Yangling Agriculture Hi-Tech Development Zone, Shaanxi Province.
The new plant will augment one in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. McCain noted its had a presence in China for 25 years. The Canadian company operates in 160 countries around the world, with 51 facilities located in local markets.
The plant will source potatoes from local farmers and produce frozen potato products "that meet growing market demand for locally prepared products across a range of cuisines."
